Are you a realtor? You need to carry a gun!
If you’re a realtor who’s been thinking that getting a concealed carry permit might be a good idea - you’re right. You need to go with your gut, make the jump, and get your permit.
Here are the top 10 reasons to get armed, get trained, and carry daily: especially if you are a realtor.
Reason #1 Realtors Need to Carry a Gun: On average, 20 realtors get killed every year in America. Don’t let it be you!
The most recent statistics available show that from the Department of Labor, there is an average of 20 realtors that are killed every year in America.
A prime example is Ashley Okland - a beautiful 27 year old realtor from Iowa who was shot in the head and chest while she was working at an open house by herself in Des Moines.
Four years later, police still have no viable leads to whom may have killed her.
Had Ashley carried a gun, she may have been able to defend herself against her attacker.
Reason #2 Realtors Need to Carry a Gun: Meeting clients at empty homes makes you vulnerable!
If a mental case wants to attack and kill someone for whatever reason, what better way to do it than to meet the person at a vacant house? Typically, realtors don’t travel together: so there’s a good chance a bad guy can get that realtor alone.
Empty houses are the perfect place to stage an attack: so realtors should get armed, get trained, and carry daily.
Reason #3 Realtors Need to Carry a Gun: You may not know a stranger’s true intentions until it’s too late.
As a realtor, it’s your job to meet with strangers all the time. You’re dealing with clients who are relocating from God-knows-where, and you never know a stranger’s past or their history. This can make you especially vulnerable.
If you’ve never met someone before, how could you ever understand what their true intentions are? In the crazy world we live in, it’s best to air on the side of caution.
Reason #4 Realtors Need to Carry a Gun: A gun is the ultimate equalizing force.
With a gun, it doesn’t matter if you are a 75 year old woman who uses a walker or a body-building 25 year old guy: if a person (or group of people) mean to do you harm, it doesn’t matter how big they are or how big the group is. The minute a gun is introduced, you can defend yourself against ANY person - big or small.
Being trained in self defense is great: but if your attacker has a knife or a gun, you’re up a creek.
Knowing karate is great: but can it stop a bullet?
The best way to avoid having to protect yourself is by making sure you’re always in situations that you’re comfortable with, and always in public places where people generally follow the law. But as a realtor, you meet with strangers and go to unoccupied homes all the time. That’s dangerous!
Reason #5 Realtors Need to Carry a Gun: You never know who is waiting for you behind that door.
Are you one of the awesome realtors that sometimes shows up to a showing ahead of the client: just to make sure everything is in order before the client gets there?
If this is you, then without a doubt, you’ve most certainly put yourself in a dangerous situation. What if there were squatters in the home? What if it was a setup, and the person whom had arranged the meeting had already shown up, snuck inside, and was lying in wait? It’s a crazy world.
Get armed, get trained, and carry daily.
Reason #6 Realtors Need to Carry a Gun: Your entire job revolves around meeting strangers in empty houses!
